Roll & read games for short u

Grab my newest set of roll & read games!

Have you seen my roll & read games? They turn reading practice into a fun game. All you need is the printable and a die!

Simply take turns rolling the die. Then read the words under the corresponding die on the game board – as quickly and accurately as possible.

The game has a variety of levels. The above picture shows the simplest game board of all.

This game is more challenging. It has more words per column plus words beginning with blends and digraphs.

Look at all these words!

This one looks easy, but don’t be fooled. Unlike the other games, it doesn’t have columns of rhyming words. Your readers really have to attend to those final letters.

These games have been an efficient way for my kindergartner to review short vowel words. I hope you can use them too!

Here are the rest of our short vowel roll & read games:

  • Short a
  • Short e
  • Short i
  • Short o

P.S. Did you know? Our membership, The Measured Mom Plus, includes 2000+ printables for teaching reading and math in Prek through 3rd grade. Check it out here!

I love these roll and read games! A couple of months back I found a similar set of games on your sight but they included Little “trophies” at the bottom, which were a nice added incentive. I can’t seem to locate these any more. Can you help direct me to their location?
Thank you for creating so many helpful and high quality resources!!
      Thanks! Kim
